6 Affiliate Programs in Kenya that can make you money

Affiliate programs and networks are so far the most popular methods of making money online among many affiliates. The sign up process is as easy as scratching the back of your ear and if you are serious you could scoop a fortune out of these affiliate programs. However most of the affiliate
programs that are very popular worldwide are based in the western countries most commonly in the US. So most of the times, many Kenyan affiliates find it hard to have a healthy working relationship with some of these affiliate programs especially because of their payment terms and methods. Some of these programs are not even allowed in Kenya.
This is the reason why I had to combine a list of affiliate programs that are based and operate by Kenyan websites and pay through options that are conversant with the Kenyan affiliate community.
This does not however mean that these sites operate only in Kenya, most of them have worldwide affiliates. The good news as we will see, is that most of these sites pay through M-pesa which is very popular among Kenyans. I did not however link these sites to the affiliate sign up pages but they won't be hard to notice. Just make sure you have a good look around.

          1. JUMIA

You will all agree with me that JUMIA adverts are all over the internet largely including the social media like facebook, twitter and Youtube. But what is JIMIA and what does it deal with? You would ask because you probably love asking questions. But seemingly I was born to answer questions so I will take it upon myself to tell you...
JUMIA is a Nigerian based online market place founded in 2012 by Jeremy Hodara and Sacha Poignonnec and as of 2015, it had spread its warehouses in eight countries- Nigeria, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Uganda and Cameroon.
JUMIA deals in a wide range of products including but not limited to electronics, home appliances, fashion  and kids stuff and nobody would hang you for saying that it is the Africa's fashion of Amazon. In November 2014 JUMIA launched its affiliate program which allowed anybody with a website, blog or even just a social media account to promote its products and get commissions.
The affiliates are paid 11% commission (Amazon gives as low as 4% so don't look like they pay nuts) if customers they refer purchase their products within 30 days of clicking through the affiliate links and payments are made via local bank transfer.
Their advertising media include banners, text links and product feeds which is a more detailed product information.

        2. Travel  Start Kenya

Travel Start is claimed to be Africa's largest online travel and booking site founded in 1999 by a Swedish businessmab Stephen Ekbergh. Quite old huh? Find out..
Travel Start offers such services as flight booking, hotel booking, car rental, vacation packages and many more. It operates in different countries such as Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Nigeria, Egypt and many others. They also have an affiliate program which through affiliates, help them to get more customers to use their services. Their payment options include M-pesa, Electronic fund transfer and credit card.
They also allow cash deposit at any KCB or Barclays bank in Kenya and accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Their commission rates are however not clearly stated.
You can promote their products using API, banners or white label. They are said to have the best customer support and can provide you with some of the affiliate tools for your promotion.

         3. Tropical Valley Safaris

I got a feeling that many travel companies are really into this affiliate thing. May be they have realized its importance after all. Well, Tropical Valley is another traveling agency operating in Kenya and other countries in eastern Africa such as Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. They offer such services as tours and safaris, hotel booking, airline tickets and rental cars.
They have an affiliate program which help them increase their productivity. The affiliates are paid a 30% commission for each customer they refer that uses their services- you could simply tell your sweet auntie that they give you money when she uses their services and you are in for a clean 30% commission. They only use a Pay Per Sale (PPS) single-tier kind of affiliate program. Promotional tools include banners and links.

4. Africa Point

Yet another travel site specializing in Africa travel. They offer online booking and information for their customers, individual safaris, beach holidays, hotels and lodges, rentals, flight and tours.
Affiliates get a lifetime earning for the customers they refer. Their commission rates are also not clearly stated

5. Kenya Pesa

Away from the travel agencies. Kenya Pesa is an online platform that in their own words " allows you to fast and cheaply send money to Kenya from your bank accounts" You can change money in different currencies t in your foreign accounts then send it to M-pesa in Kenyan Shillings. The minimum you can send is $15.
They will give you a referral link once you register to become their affiliates which your referrals must use when registering in order for you to earn commissions. Their commissions are however very low; only $0.05 per referral when they complete the first order. You can withdraw your money once it reaches $5 and only via Cashsender.

6. Smart Kenya Online

I didn't find much information about this site since it doesn't have an 'About' tab and there is little information about it on the internet. Their affiliate program however is an interesting one. You earn 20% commission (about $10-$50 per sale) The people you refer are branded with a life time cookie which means that you earn commissions as long as they make purchases- for a lifetime. You can collect your money once it reaches $100. Smart Kenya Online are dealers in website templates.

These are just a few examples of sites which offer affiliate programs in Kenya. I could not cover all of them in just one post. But you don't have to end here. You can also do your own research and come up with more sites. In my later post, I will be giving you more detailed information on the affiliate world.

  5. Wow! great information there. Thanks a lot. I am already enrolled to Jumia affiliate program and I've made my first sale. I'm eagerly waiting for my first payment. Recently I found another program at Affiliateskenya.com that pays $10/ksh.1000 per referral per month recurring but you have to be subscribed to their site to earn. They charge $24.99 per month to be a member. They focus on teaching affiliate marketing. Their cookie duration is 1 month. I see great potential here.

  12. Hi members,

Finally, some good news for aspiring affiliate marketers. I have launched a new training for aspiring affiliate marketers. Join the training and learn how to generate passive income.

For those who don't know what passive income is, passive income is the kind of income that comes from a business that does not require your active daily engagement. For example, if you start a business today and appoint someone else to manage, the business will be generating income for you even if you are not present.

Affiliate marketing is simply selling someone esle's product or service and then earning a commission for every sale that you generate.

The best thing about affiliate marketing is that it runs 24 hours a day throughout the year. You only have to put in work while setting up and then leave everything to run on autopilot.

If you want to find out more about affiliate marketing and learn how you can get started, get in touch with me through +254 723 175402.

You can view the training through this link: https://bit.ly/POI_Affiliate-Training

  13. We’ve all seen the ads and articles claiming, “Make money online! Be your own boss! Become an internet millionaire! Work from home! etc.”

Most of these make money online strategies are usually scams. The only strategy that has been tested and proven to work by millions of people worldwide is Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing basically refers to selling someone else’s products/services for a commission. This business model has been around even before the internet came to be.

Affiliate marketing is one of the strategies I use to make money with. I’ve since discovered that you really can do it, and it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune, and you don’t have to rip people off along the way.

I have put together a detailed step by step guide on how you can start your own affiliate marketing business.
The sweet thing about affiliate marketing is that it is structured in a passive income model, such that your presence is not always required to make money. You also do not need to own or create a product to start.

The training goes into more details about Amazon Niche Sites, and how you can start your own.

If you are interested in starting a business that will start bringing in over $1000 monthly on autopilot, this training is for you. I know a lot of guys who even quit their day jobs to pursue affiliate marketing on a full-time basis.

With $29 only, I’ll give you access to an in-depth step by step guide that will show you how to get started from zero until you pocket your first commission.
